Ditoro Outreach Program is Field Guide Training Program dedicated to bridging the gap between local communities and nature through transformative education and conservation initiatives. Founded by Kutullo Shai, an Advanced Field Guide and Level 3 Tracker, the program empowers individuals to connect with wildlife through immersive learning experiences.
Our flagship Field Guide Program provides candidates with the knowledge, skills, and mentorship to pursue careers in conservation. Combining self-study, practical training at game reserves, and community discussions, we nurture future conservationists who will inspire change. Thanks to our sponsors, we’re making dreams a reality and fostering a deeper harmony between humanity and nature.
We aim to build strong, positive connections between nature reserves and surrounding communities through education.
Our initiatives are designed to create lasting, impactful change in conservation and community development.
We strive to cultivate a deep appreciation and understanding of our natural heritage within local communities.
Our programs equip individuals with the skills and opportunities needed to secure meaningful employment in conservation.

Growing up in The Oaks Village, Kutullo Shai’s passion for conservation was sparked at a young age. As a student at Diphuti Primary School, he joined an environmental education program run by GVI. Winning a trip to Karongwe Game Reserve for a game drive ignited a dream—to become a field guide like those who inspired him.

After matriculating, Kutullo joined Daktari Bush School before earning sponsorship to study at the Southern African Wildlife College, where he completed a Nature Conservation Bridging Course. His journey continued with three months as a GVI volunteer in Karongwe Game Reserve. Driven by determination, he self-studied to become a guide, earning a role as a Research Assistant before being promoted to Community Outreach Manager, leading the very program that first inspired his path.
Today, Kutullo channels his experiences into empowering others through the Ditoro Outreach Program, fostering a new generation of conservationists.
